Gomabai Netralaya always welcomes individuals, volunteers, organizations, and supporters who wish to contribute towards preventing blindness and improving community eye health. Together, we can bring quality eye care services to those who need them the most.
Outreach Program
One of the primary visions of our founder, Shri G. D. Agrawal Ji, was to ensure that quality eye care reaches even the most remote and underserved communities. Gomabai Netralaya regularly conducts rural outreach eye screening programs across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Through a strong network of volunteers, supporters, and healthcare partners, we organize community camps, provide free eye examinations, identify patients requiring treatment, and facilitate surgeries completely free of cost for needy beneficiaries.
Community Impact
More than 5,00,000 beneficiaries have received free eye examinations and over 1,20,000 sight-restoring surgeries have been performed through outreach programs.
Vidya Jyothi Eye Health Project
With the support of Sightsavers India, Gomabai Netralaya successfully implemented the “Vidya Jyothi Eye Health Program” between 2022 and 2024 in Pratapgarh District.
The project screened more than 1.5 lakh school students with active support from the District Education Department. More than 1100 teachers and 50 master trainers were trained during the program.
The project achieved 100% target coverage across 08 administrative blocks, refracted more than 8500 students, distributed free spectacles, and supported complicated pediatric eye surgeries free of cost.
Vision Care Project
Gomabai Netralaya, with the generous support of Shreemad Ramchandra Mission, launched the Vision Care Project in July 2025 with the objective of strengthening community eye care services and ensuring accessible vision screening for underserved populations. Since its inception, the project has made a remarkable impact by reaching thousands of beneficiaries across rural and semi-urban communities through organized screening activities, awareness programs, and referral services. Under this initiative, more than 96,000 individuals have been screened for various eye problems including refractive errors, cataract, and other vision-related conditions. The project has also successfully facilitated the free distribution of over 28,000 spectacles to beneficiaries in need, helping improve vision, education, productivity, and overall quality of life.
